Whenever an attachment is added to a lift truck, its weight and thickness reduce the overall capacity of the lift truck/attachment combination. This calculator allows you to estimate your new net capacity. Any actual down-rated capacity must be obtained from the lift truck manufacturer.

Note: The capacity shown on the attachment nameplate is a structural rating only and may not necessarily reflect the actual lifting ability of the truck/attachment combination.

Enter the necessary measurements into the form and then click the Calculate button to reveal your new estimated net-capacity.
R Rated truck capacity in pounds
F Distance in inches from the front wheel centerline to the front of forks
LC Rated load center measured in inches
W Attachment weight in pounds
D Distance in inches from the front wheel centerline to the truck carriage face (F minus fork thickness)
HCG Attachment horizontal center of gravity measured in inches
T Distance in inches from the truck carriage face to the rear face of the load (lost load or effective thickness)
L Center of load measured in inches
Net Capacity = [R(F+LC) - W(D+HCG)] / (D+T+L)
